PRP/PRF

About PRP and PRF

Regenerative Medicine, Powered by Your Own Biology.
PRP and PRF harness the body’s own platelets, growth factors, signalling molecules, plasma, and fibrin to support natural healing and regeneration.
The Arthrex ACP system provides a simple, fully closed method of preparing autologous PRP + liquid PRF from the patient’s own blood—without anticoagulants or synthetic additives.

Unlike systems that require additives to prevent clotting, Arthrex preserves the blood’s natural coagulation pathway and its ability to form fibrin. After administration, liquid PRF can transition into a fibrin-rich scaffold within the tissue, helping localize and gradually release the patient’s own regenerative signals.
One system. PRP + PRF. No additives. Just your own biology.

What Makes Arthrex Different?

PRP is only part of the story.
Platelet-rich plasma has been used for decades across orthopedics, sports medicine, dentistry, surgery, and regenerative medicine, with an extensive body of research examining its role in healing and tissue repair.
PRP concentrates naturally occurring platelets, growth factors, signalling molecules, and plasma from the patient’s own blood.
But Arthrex goes beyond PRP by preserving something equally important: Fibrin

Fibrin is part of the body’s natural healing response. It creates a biological matrix that can help retain platelets and regenerative signals within the treatment area.

Arthrex ACP does not require anticoagulants, the natural coagulation pathway remains intact—allowing the preparation to transition from liquid PRF into a fibrin-rich scaffold after administration.
PRP provides the regenerative signals. PRF provides the natural scaffold. Arthrex gives you both.

The Arthrex ACP Advantage
• PRP + liquid PRF from one system
• 100% autologous — derived from the patient’s own blood
• No anticoagulants
• No synthetic additives
• Preserves natural fibrin-forming capacity
• Fully closed double-syringe system
• No double spin
• Simple, efficient preparation
• Concentrates naturally occurring platelets, growth factors, and signalling molecules
• Supported by decades of research and hundreds of clinical and scientific studies
• Built on Arthrex’s extensive history in orthobiologics and regenerative medicine

Why Fibrin Matters

Think of platelets and growth factors as the body’s regenerative signals and fibrin as the natural scaffold that helps keep those signals where they’re needed.

When anticoagulants are introduced, the natural clotting process is temporarily inhibited. Arthrex takes a different approach.
By preparing the patient’s blood without anticoagulants, the body’s natural fibrin-forming pathway remains available. Once administered, the liquid preparation can begin forming a fibrin matrix within the tissue—helping create a localized environment for the patient’s own regenerative components.

No added anticoagulant. No synthetic scaffold. Just the patient’s own biology doing what it was designed to do.

Built on Decades of Regenerative Medicine

Arthrex didn’t begin with aesthetics.
Its foundation is in orthopedics, sports medicine, surgery, and orthobiologics—fields where platelet-based therapies have been studied and used for decades.
Today, the principles behind PRP and PRF are expanding into new areas of regenerative medicine, bringing the same focus on the body’s own healing biology into an increasingly diverse range of clinical applications.

One Biology. Expanding Possibilities.

PRP and PRF are being used and investigated across regenerative medicine, including skin rejuvenation, hair restoration, ocular health and dry eye, female and male intimate wellness, urinary incontinence, erectile and sexual function, Peyronie’s disease, reproductive medicine and fertility, orthopedics and joint health, post-procedure recovery, wound healing, and complex wounds.

From aesthetics to orthopedics, hair restoration to sexual wellness, and post-procedure recovery to wound care, the application may change—but the principle remains the same:

Harness the body’s own biology to support healing, repair, and regeneration.
